The ECU monitors the oil pressure switch signal, which toggles between open and closed circuits as oil pressure rises and falls. The sensor should report pressure above a threshold (typically 4-7 PSI at idle) to indicate adequate lubrication. If the ECU detects an open circuit, erratic signal, or stuck signal regardless of engine conditions, it logs a fault.
Voltage & Parameter Thresholds
| Parameter |

| Oil Pressure Signal |
Switches ON above ~5 PSI; OFF below ~3 PSI |
No signal change, stuck high/low, or intermittent dropout |
| Circuit Continuity |
0.5-4.5V signal voltage at rest to running |
