The ECM sends a release signal to the speed control actuator assembly, expecting mechanical feedback or voltage change indicating cable tension release. If the ECM detects no cable movement or continued high tension after multiple release commands within a set timeframe, it logs this fault. The system monitors electrical resistance and mechanical position sensors on the actuator.
Voltage & Parameter Thresholds
| Parameter |
Normal Range |
Fault Condition |
| Actuator Cable Tension/Position |
Cable releases smoothly within 0.5-1 second of command |
No release detected after 2+ consecutive commands or cable stuck in engaged position |
| Actuator Motor Current Draw |
2-5 amps during release cycle |
Zero amps or excessive amps (7+ amps) indicating mechanical jam |
