The Hero Super Splendor XTEC is a 125cc commuter motorcycle that combines a conventional commuter layout with a number of modern convenience features. It is positioned as an everyday motorcycle designed for riders who regularly travel through city traffic, suburban roads, and occasional highway stretches. While the overall design remains practical, the XTEC variant introduces additional technology and equipment compared to the standard Super Splendor.
Power comes from a 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces around 10.8 PS of power and 10.6 Nm of torque. The engine uses fuel-injection technology, which replaces the older carburetor system and helps maintain consistent fuel delivery under different riding conditions. The power output is delivered through a 5-speed gearbox, giving riders an additional gear compared to many entry-level commuter motorcycles. This setup allows the engine to operate at lower revolutions during cruising, which can contribute to a more relaxed riding experience on open roads.
The motorcycle is built on a tubular diamond frame that serves as the structural foundation of the chassis. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and five-step adjustable rear shock absorbers. This arrangement is designed to manage everyday road conditions, including speed breakers, uneven surfaces, and potholes commonly encountered in urban and semi-urban environments. The suspension setup focuses on stability and comfort rather than sporty handling characteristics.
Braking hardware consists of a front disc brake or drum brake, depending on the variant, while the rear wheel uses a drum brake. Hero’s Integrated Braking System (IBS) is included to distribute braking force between both wheels when the rear brake is applied. This feature is intended to improve braking balance and control during routine riding situations. The motorcycle rides on alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres, which provide added convenience in the event of a puncture.
The Super Splendor XTEC carries a fuel tank capacity of approximately 12 litres. Combined with the fuel-efficient nature of the engine, this allows for a considerable riding range between fuel stops. Ground clearance of around 180 mm enables the motorcycle to clear speed breakers and rough road sections without frequent underbody contact. The wheelbase and chassis dimensions are configured to provide predictable handling while maintaining stability at everyday riding speeds.
One of the distinguishing aspects of the XTEC variant is its feature set. The motorcycle comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster that displays information such as speed, fuel level, trip readings, real-time mileage, and service reminders. Bluetooth connectivity allows riders to receive call and SMS alerts on the display. A USB charging port is also included, enabling riders to charge mobile devices while on the move.
Hero’s i3S technology is another notable feature. This system automatically switches off the engine when the motorcycle remains stationary for a short period and restarts it when the clutch is engaged. The side-stand engine cut-off function adds another layer of convenience by preventing the motorcycle from being ridden with the side stand deployed.
The riding position follows a traditional commuter layout with an upright handlebar, centrally positioned footpegs, and a long seat designed to accommodate both rider and pillion comfortably. The bodywork uses simple lines and practical proportions, while the XTEC-specific graphics and digital instrumentation give the motorcycle a slightly more contemporary appearance. The overall package combines a fuel-injected 125cc engine, commuter-focused ergonomics, conventional suspension hardware, and a selection of modern convenience features intended for everyday riding conditions.
